Coaching Philosophy

My coaching philosopy is pretty simple, and the art in this game is keeping it simple.

That means for the sailors it is about getting the training done in the best way, with the best support, and the least distractions, and the least worries.

To do this funding has to be in place and the planning needs to be immpecable. Olympic medals are more often than not being planned for 6-8 years before they are achieved. 

The better support the Athletes have, the closer they can come to their "best" performance on the big day. Given the funding is in place, the Coach is the next most important thing to get right. Teams that get this right are in for a much easier ride, as an experienced coach can forsee/deal with/ deflect, any of the problems and BS that an Olympic campaign inevitabilites involves, leaving the Sailors with a clearer path.
